TFS is a marine-approved level switch certified according to EU RO MR.
The level switch can be obtained with an SPST contact (choice of NO or NC) or as an SPDT contact (change-over contact). Options are available with an integrated Pt1000 element for temperature measurement or with a built-in thermostat.
The principle works by one or more magnetic reed switches, placed inside the measuring rod, being activated by one or more floats. Up to six floats with individual switching points are available for comprehensive monitoring of the liquid level.
The marine-approved version is available in brass with an NBR float or in a fully stainless-steel design.
The EU RO MR Type Approval Certificate is issued for products intended to be installed on board a ship, in compliance with the requirements of the European Union Recognized Organization Mutual Recognition (EU RO MR).
According to Article 10 of Regulation (EC) No 391/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009, the following classification societies, recognized by the EU, have agreed on the technical and procedural conditions for the mutual recognition of this certificate:

- China Classification Society (CCS)
- Croatian Register of Shipping (CRS)
- DNV
- Indian Register of Shipping (IRS)
- Korean Register (KR)
- Lloyd’s Register Group Ltd. (LR)
- Nippon Kaiji Kyokai General Incorporated Foundation (ClassNK)
- Polish Register of Shipping (PRS)
- RINA Services S.p.A. (RINA)
